Happy fantasy week everybody!
Thank you for tuning in to our blog once again, and if you’re new here, welcome.
Have you ever thought of how many fantasy things we see on a regular daily basis?
Even as kids, all we ever did was think about things related with fantasy and always using our imagination.
But what is fantasy?
Fantasy is vital for the human mind. It begins as the psychological process by which a child learns to fill the gaps between knowledge, reality and experience, and becomes a vital adult coping mechanism.
Fantasy feeds our sense of wonder.
Are there any “rules” in fantasy?
Fantasy stories can be about anything, anywhere, anytime with essentially no limitations on what is possible.
Are there “types” of fantasy?
We may not know it, but there are so many different kinds of fantasy, such as:
- Medieval
- Fairytales
- Mythological
- Fables
Here in Hello School Salamanca, we teach children, teenagers, young adults and adults.
Although fantasy is for everyone, because… oh well we all have a kid inside of us anyways! Let’s remember some well-known fantasy movies and books, just in case you haven’t watched/read them, or you have and you want to do so again!
- Harry Potter
- Narnia
- Percy Jackson
- Peter Pan
And so many more!
So, do you now realize how important it is for fantasy to form a part of our lives? Think about it, our imagination does such crazy things, that end up even being FANTASTIC!
By removing the limitations of reality, fantasy opens stories to the possibility of anything. People can become superheroes, animals can speak, dragons become real dangers, and magic can be as normal as anything else in life. Most importantly, as mentioned earlier, fantasy is for the audience, it allows people to escape from reality, becoming lost in exciting and unusual stories that provoke the imagination.
